Dayna Morales Suspended From Job

This story just won’t die.If this woman has a history of lying, perhaps she needs counseling. She is giving the LGBT community a bad name if she’s going to do something so despicable.

You can do a search of my blog and find previous stories related to this young woman.

The waitress who posted an image of “anti-gay” receipt, and who received thousands of dollars in donations because of it, has been suspended from her job in New Jersey pending an ongoing investigation.

Claims she made about donating the money to charity have also come into question.

The story of Dayna Morales, a gay waitress and former Marine, went viral last month after she posted an image of a purportedly homophobic receipt from a customer who refused to leave her a tip because of her “lifestyle.” The family who allegedly left the receipt later came out challenging Morales’ story, saying they not only gave a tip, but they also never wrote the note. They provided a credit card bill to prove they were charged a greater amount than Morales claimed and called her tale a hoax.

On Tuesday, the Asbury Park Press noted Morales has been suspended from her position at Gallop Asian Bistro in Bridgewater, N.J.

This original story has taken a very interesting turn.

The story of a gay waitress who was reportedly denied a tip and received a homophobic note on a restaurant receipt took an even stranger turn when the family implicated in the incident came forward to deny the whole thing.

Dayna Morales, a Marine and server at Gallop Asian Bistro in Bridgewater, N.J., made headlines earlier this month when she posted an anti-gay receipt note on Facebook. In her post, she claimed a family came into the restaurant, called her by the name “Dan” and neglected to leave a tip. She claimed she found a note on their bill, reading, “I’m sorry but I cannot tip because I don’t agree with your lifestyle & how you live your life.”

“I am THOROUGHLY offended mad pissed off and hurt that THIS is what her kids will grow up learning and that I served in the Marines to keep ignorant people like them free,” Morales wrote on Facebook.

The story was picked up by multiple news outlets and went viral. Thousands of dollars in donations came flooding in for Morales from all over the world. She later said she planned to give a portion to the Wounded Warriors Project.

Now, the family has come forward claiming it’s a scam.

And yes, they did share the Visa bill showing the amount they were charge which included an $18 tip…

Waitress/Marine Follow-up

Another follow-up to a previously posted story last week. Dayna Morales is paying it forward after receiving tips from around the world in response to her venting online about the homophobia she experienced at work.

An openly gay waitress and marine who was stiffed on a tip because of her “lifestyle” has received an outpouring of support from the public since her story went viral. Now, she wants to pay it forward.

Dayna Morales, a server at Gallop Asian Bistro in Bridgewater, N.J., made headlines last week when she posted her encounter with homophobia to the “Have A Gay Day” Facebook page. Instead of leaving a tip on a $93.55 bill, a family of diners ridiculed Morales and scrawled an anti-gay note on the receipt, that read: “I’m sorry but I cannot tip because I don’t agree with your lifestyle & how you live your life.”

She took to Facebook to air her grievances about such treatment, explaining, “I served in the Marines to keep ignorant people like them free.”

Waitress And Marine, Denied Tip Because Of Her ‘Gay Lifestyle’

To be honest, this offends me moreso because Ms Morales is a Marine and after all they do for us, to be treated like nothing more than something on the bottom of her black boot is appalling. We don’t do enough for our returning veterans by a long shot. We welcome their willingness to take up arms in our name and fight for the causes we hold dear, but when they come home – injured or not – they get a slap in the face.

I’m going to step out on a limb and say that Ms Morales probably has short hair because of the military and/or personal choice. But what if it wasn’t? What if she was waitressing because she’s been recovering from cancer treatments and something like a part time job waiting tables was all she could handle? Last time I looked, people who get chimo lose their hair, and they don’t all rush out and buy a wig. OR, better yet, perhaps her best friend or a family member lost hair due to illness and she didn’t want that person to feel alone in their baldness so she shaved hers bare and its growing back now. There are a whole host of reasons why her hair is short and NONE of them are that family’s business. People like that disgust me.

A waitress in New Jersey who previously served in the Marines received an offensive note from a family who denied her a tip because of her “gay lifestyle.” Now, she is speaking out against those very people whose freedom she once defended.

Dayna Morales, a server at Gallop Asian Bistro in Bridgewater, N.J., wrote an email to gay-friendly blog “Have A Gay Day” about her recent experience with homophobia while serving a family of diners, reports Gay Star News. When Morales introduced herself to the couple and their two children, the mother was allegedly shocked by Morales’ short hair.

“Oh I thought you were gonna say your name is Dan,” she allegedly said. “You sure surprised us!”

At the end of the meal, Morales was left with no tip on the $93.55 bill. Instead, she found a note on the receipt, reading: “I’m sorry but I cannot tip because I don’t agree with your lifestyle & how you live your life.”
