Canadian Baby Identified as Agender

I’m sorry, but I do not understand whatever agender or non-binary shit is. I get loving the opposite sex. I get loving the same sex. I get loving both depending on the circumstances and the person you’re in a relationship with. I don’t understand what it’s like to be born in the wrong body, but I accept that it happens and am all for transgender rights. Anything outside of the L, the G, the B or the T is beyond me. In a world where people don’t want to be labeled, there are still thousands who reject the labels there are – for whatever reason – and decide to make up their own shit. In my eyes, they’re doing it for attention. I don’t understand one person wanting to be referred to as “they”. They, they’re, their have denoted multiple persons for I don’t know how long and suddenly it’s not…?

In this case, the parent involved is screaming for this child’s rights, but at the same time, the child’s rights are being taken by the parent. Let the child grow into the male or female body given at birth and if that child feels wrong, let her or him make up his/her mind alone. Why should a parent force their own issues on this child? Why make life difficult for the child if she/he is happy in their own body? Kinda makes me wonder if the parent would be happy if the child turned out to be a healthy heterosexual female or male.

I got this story from Lizzy the Lezzy on Facebook and as someone pointed out, there are medical issues that the child may experience that the doctor needs to know if the sex of the child is male or female as it could determine how something is treated or handled.

A Canadian baby has become the first to receive official identification which defines them as not having a gender.

Eight-month-old Searyl Atli Doty – Sea for short – got their national health card with a “U” entered in the sex category, months into a legal battle that their parent is still fighting.

Kori Doty, a trans non-binary parent, is appealing against the Vital Statistics Agency’s decision to refuse Sea a birth certificate.

AL Ed. Official Warns Of ‘Homosexualist’ Common Core Takeover

Okay I’m quite sure LGBT parents are just as confused as straight parents when it comes to Common Core. And for the THOUSANDTH time, there is no gay agenda, no homosexual agenda, no transgender agenda. We all want to educate our children the same as anyone else. Why can’t you get that through your Cromagnon heads??? Just keep your “C” values out of the classroom unless you’re teaching in a “C” school. We have the right to raise our children in ANY religion, same as you.

An Alabama Board of Education member is drawing criticism for making a number of outlandish claims about the Common Core during a recent GOP luncheon.

Betty Peters, the state school board member for District 2, in the southeast part of the state, spoke at a meeting of the Republican Women of Coffee County Oct. 21 during which she espoused views on the Common Core, “transgender values” and the “homosexualist” takeover of education in Southern states.

Peters tore into the Common Core standards as an example of federal overreach and claimed the program allows “homosexualists” to influence schoolchildren, The Southeast Sun, a newspaper based in Enterprise, Alabama, reported this week.

“I understand Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi are the three Southern states targeted by the radical, left, homosexualists to change our students’ perspective,” Peters said, according to the Sun. “We have gone past gay, lesbian and bisexual and we’re now into gender fluid spectrum.”

“As I said when I first campaigned and I’ve said it every time since, we need to get back to the basics: Reading, writing and arithmetic from first grade on,” Peters continued. “We need to be teaching the ‘c’ part which is Christian values, not Muslim values, not transgender values. We need to be teaching the old Biblical values.”

Waitress And Marine, Denied Tip Because Of Her ‘Gay Lifestyle’

To be honest, this offends me moreso because Ms Morales is a Marine and after all they do for us, to be treated like nothing more than something on the bottom of her black boot is appalling. We don’t do enough for our returning veterans by a long shot. We welcome their willingness to take up arms in our name and fight for the causes we hold dear, but when they come home – injured or not – they get a slap in the face.

I’m going to step out on a limb and say that Ms Morales probably has short hair because of the military and/or personal choice. But what if it wasn’t? What if she was waitressing because she’s been recovering from cancer treatments and something like a part time job waiting tables was all she could handle? Last time I looked, people who get chimo lose their hair, and they don’t all rush out and buy a wig. OR, better yet, perhaps her best friend or a family member lost hair due to illness and she didn’t want that person to feel alone in their baldness so she shaved hers bare and its growing back now. There are a whole host of reasons why her hair is short and NONE of them are that family’s business. People like that disgust me.

A waitress in New Jersey who previously served in the Marines received an offensive note from a family who denied her a tip because of her “gay lifestyle.” Now, she is speaking out against those very people whose freedom she once defended.

Dayna Morales, a server at Gallop Asian Bistro in Bridgewater, N.J., wrote an email to gay-friendly blog “Have A Gay Day” about her recent experience with homophobia while serving a family of diners, reports Gay Star News. When Morales introduced herself to the couple and their two children, the mother was allegedly shocked by Morales’ short hair.

“Oh I thought you were gonna say your name is Dan,” she allegedly said. “You sure surprised us!”

At the end of the meal, Morales was left with no tip on the $93.55 bill. Instead, she found a note on the receipt, reading: “I’m sorry but I cannot tip because I don’t agree with your lifestyle & how you live your life.”

Tumblr Mobile Filter Anti-Gay?

I’ve never seen the use of Tumblr, but I know it’s popular.

News that Tumblr’s mobile filter was blocking searches for such tags as #gay, #lesbian, or #bisexual on its iOS app as part of a new porn restrictions was immediately controversial. Users wondered how it was possible that searches related to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender themes were NSFW and subject to prohibition.

But the truth behind the filtering may have more to do with Tumblr’s recent sale to Yahoo! and its desire to adhere to the standards of Apple’s App Store, than an attempt to block any potentially racy communities.

DIY blogger comes out

So glad to have a nice DIY blog to refer to for projects. And if you don’t feel like going to the Huffington Post story to find the link to her blog, I have added it to my list on the right.

Grace Bonney is one of the best-known stars of the crowded design blogosphere. Through her gorgeous blog Design Sponge and possibly more gorgeous book, she single-handedly convinced the world that DIY design can be stylish and beautiful. She’s an advisor to small businesswomen, a preservationist and has been featured and profiled in too many publications to count. And as she revealed in a blog post on June 10th, Bonney is also gay.

Another one I missed

Well I suppose when you don’t make a point to follow Hollywood news, then you don’t know the ins and outs of celebrity personal lives. That’s just never been appealing to me, but it is to my mother and her mother before her. At any rate, I had no idea that Jane Lynch is a Lesbian. It just never occurred to me to wonder about her personal life. So I was a bit surprised to learn yesterday that she’s divorcing her wife of only four years. It’s sad news, naturally, but I know that just like straight folk, gays and lesbians fall in and out of love. I just hate it when kid are involved and a bond formed between the new mom and one or more kids. I went through that with my first girl friend and it was heartbreaking. I mean it’s one thing that she left me, but I’d just gotten a handle on the idea that maybe I would’ve actually been a good mom when the chance was taken away. I hope the two women are able to remain amicable.

Former ‘Glee’ Star Comes Out In Native Philippines

It’s sad that this poor young woman doesn’t have familial support, but unfortunately that is more often the case than not.

Click on the link below and leave a comment here if you think her new look is boyish. That’s bullshit if you ask me. It’s still long, just not as long as it was before. The lighter colour also suits her. My hair is shorter than hers and I don’t consider myself boyish.

Former “Glee” actress Charice Pempengco came out as a lesbian during an emotional television interview Sunday in her native Philippines.

Asked about her sexuality on the country’s popular show “The Buzz,” the 21-year-old singer known as Charice responded, “Opo, tomboy po ako,” which, in Filipino, translates as “Yes, I’m a lesbian.”

Up to now, Charice has been silent about her sexuality, despite rampant rumors that arose in the past year after she shed her long locks for a more boyish look.

Following her admission Sunday, she broke down in tears as she revealed that she is estranged from her mother and brother.

Film that won at Cannes Blasted by Author

My last post here was about the Lesbian coming of age movie which was a surprise hit at the Cannes Film Festival this year. Apparently the author of the book on which Blue is the Warmest Color is based is likening it to porn.

Author Julie Maroh, who wrote the novel on which “Blue” is based, says she cannot endorse the film.

Graphic lesbian drama “Blue is the Warmest Color”  —  or “La Vie d’Adele” as the French film is also known  —  took home the top honor at Cannes on Sunday.

But that doesn’t mean that everyone is pleased with director  Abdellatif Kechiche’s final result.

Author Julie Maroh, who wrote the novel on which “Blue” is based, wrote a blog post in which she says the film’s sex scenes are  “not convincing,” “ridiculous,” and likens them to porn.

“As a feminist and lesbian spectator, I can not endorse the direction Kechiche took on these matters,” she writes.

Maroh goes so far as to call the film’s sex scenes “A brutal and surgical display, exuberant and cold, of so-called lesbian sex, which turned into porn, and me feel very ill at ease.”

Lesbian Drama Hidden Gem at Cannes

Film which debuted just 3 days before the end of the world renowned film festival is critical hit at Cannes.

Abdellatif Kechiche’s teen-lesbian coming-of-age story “Blue Is the Warmest Color” has won the 2013 Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival, a jury headed by Steven Spielberg announced on Sunday.

Based on the graphic novel “Le Bleu est une couleur chaude” and titled “La vie d’Adele – Chapitre 1 & 2” in French, the film debuted only three days before the end of the festival and immediately became one of the biggest critical hits of Cannes — and the only real unexpected breakthrough among the competition titles.

It also drew attention because of its graphic and extended sex scenes between its unknown lead actress, Adele Exarchopoulos, and Lea Seydoux. It is both the most sexually explicit Palme winner and the first gay-themed love story to win.

The film was acquired for U.S. distribution by Sundance Selects, which will no doubt have its hands full with the MPAA ratings board.

The Right Wing Nutjobs are going to have a FIELD DAY with this film if it’s released here in the US. Even now they are spreading rumours about children being shown homosexual porn because the Boy Scouts of America is allowing openly gay scouts within their membership. This film will play right into that, especially because of the graphic and extended sex scenes. For this reason, I hope it doesn’t ever get released here. I am sure it’s a beautiful love story, but it doesn’t deserve the abuse that would be heaped on it by the RWN.

Fired Lesbian teacher not backed by union

As much as I would like for this to be a non-issue, it is and always will be. The union is wrong for not supporting one of its teachers.

A gay teacher who was fired from a Catholic high school in Ohio says she has been dealt another blow: Her local union isn’t supporting her.

Carla Hale taught physical education for 19 years at Bishop Watterson Catholic High School in Columbus. She was fired in March after her name appeared with her longtime lesbian partner’s name in her mother’s obituary.

The firing, which the school said was prompted by an anonymous letter from a parent complaining about a lesbian teacher, resulted in a heated debate on both sides for the diocese of Columbus.
